As a US Jazz Ambassador, she's embraced and expanded jazz tradition on a global scale, crafting visionary programming that unites celebrated performers and emerging talents. Her dedication to empowering women in the industry is evident through her signature Women in Jazz All-Stars lineup, honoring their significant contributions to the genre. From concept to execution, Sweet Baby J'ai's events exemplify her commitment to pushing artistic boundaries, delivering unforgettable experiences that resonate with audiences worldwide.

Gina Yashere is a London-born comedian of Nigerian heritage, who gained fame with TV appearances on shows like Live At The Apollo and Mock The Week. Gina stands out for being the sole British comic on Def Comedy Jam and her hilarious spots on The Tonight Show & HBO's Crashing. With 4 Netflix stand-up specials and as the British Correspondent on The Daily Show, Gina's comedic prowess shines globally. A Tribute to the  Legendary TOSHIKO AKIYOSHI


         As a heartfelt part of our program, we're set to pay tribute to the profound legacy of the  remarkable TOSHIKO AKIYOSHI The transformative Akiyoshi, now 93 years old, has reshaped the jazz landscape over her six-decade journey. As a pianist, bandleader, and composer-arranger, she has solidified her position as a pivotal figure in twentieth-century jazz history. Inspired by Toshiko Akiyoshi, LA-based saxophonist TOMOKA NOMURA has graced stages worldwide, including her native Japan, and has collaborated with acclaimed artists such as Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Bunny Hill and Jazz in Pink. Her saxophone skills exude a captivating blend of dynamic melodies and soulful improvisations, reflecting her deep dedication to music. We are also thrilled to announce a Special Guest who will be joining the homage to Akiyoshi.

Amplifying the magic is the sensational silky-voiced soul singer LORI JENAIRE, adding an extra layer of unforgettable musical brilliance to the evening.  She seamlessly merges past and present with captivating vocals. Known for hits like "California Dreamin'" and "You Know How to Love Me," she's charted well and earned Grammy nods. Her collaboration "As You Are" with Patrice Rushen reached Billboard's Top 3. A gifted musician and songwriter, her silky voice evokes the R&B essence of the iconic vocalists Phyllis Hyman and Angela Bofill.
